Keying Errors Explained

If you paid but mistyped a character of your registration, you have paid for the parking. Codes of practice say a genuine keying error should not lead to a charge.

Important: Proof of payment for the same site, date and time is usually enough to get the charge cancelled.

1. Why it happens

Payment terminals and apps require the exact registration. A single wrong letter means the ANPR system sees an unpaid vehicle.

2. How to appeal

Send the payment receipt, app history or bank statement showing the transaction, and explain the typo clearly.
